Getting Started with Audio Compass Navigator
Audio Compass can be downloaded from the web site (www.audiocompass.com) as a free trial for a limited time. You can then securely purchase it online or by calling the sales phone number on our website. Audio Compass Navigator is managed through a centralized server, transparent to the user.
Upon purchase, a user group is created. For example, XYZ Radio. The number of licensed users are added to that group. License keys are provided based on the number of users within a given group. Each user key is encrypted with the user name, password and which group the user belongs to.
You may install Audio Compass on any computer you would like. If you use the same key for your remote studio and your laptop, this is not a problem. However, your single key license can only be logged in from one machine at a time. If your remote studio computer was logged in, and while traveling you log in with a laptop, the laptop will automatically replace and disconnect the remote studio computer.
Audio Compass offers a shared global chat room where chats between users are viewed by all users within your group. Although text conversations are global to the complete group, each audio session is point to point; meaning, between two users in the group.
Multiple audio sessions may simultaneously take place within your group. However, each conversation will be exclusive between the two connected parties.
You will need one person on each end of the broadcast. A broadband connection is highly recommended; however, a dial-up connection will work at low bit rates (mileage may vary). You can modify the audio settings based on your connections or bandwidth constraints. In the initial set-up of the software, you need to adjust the software options of Audio Compass. This step is only performed when necessary and is not required by your ON AIR staff.
Adjusting audio levels can be performed in the main window of Audio Compass by adjusting the sliders, or by adjusting the mic/line and speaker levels of your sound card properties in Windows. It doesn't matter where you change these levels as they are reflected in both views. Audio Compass does not automatically adjust these levels, providing assurance that your preferred settings will not be altered.
Audio Compass transfers low-delay, crystal-clear audio from one location to another and allows for global chat, viewable by all users in your group. After initial setup, one-click and you're ON AIR.
